In finding this article, you've already made a step toward finding your purpose. This article contains a brief explanation of tools that can help in your discovery.
Finding your life's purpose will greatly enhance every aspect of your life. To be "on-purpose" is to feel passion, enthusiasm and great happiness. Few people are born with the understanding of what their life's purpose is. On the other hand, some people never spend the time to contemplate their place in the greater plan. The rest of us, at some point in our lives, very often after or during dramatic events, start questioning. This article will provide some helpful tools that can help you move forward on this path. According to Carol Adrienne in her book The Purpose of Your Life, "At this moment, you are in a stage of your developing purpose, and you are not off track, no matter how blocked you currently feel." So starting to explore right now is perfect. Don't wait until you feel the moment is right. It may never come! Yoga & MeditationCarol Adrienne says, "Your calling has already made itself known through what motivates you (past and present), what attracts you, what you resist, and what frustrates you." These are interesting ideas to focus on during yoga and meditation. These practices help many people still their minds, which allows them to hear messages from their soul. While many find meditation difficult, yoga is a wonderful way to obtain some stillness of the mind. For others, they still need some other "tools" to help point them in the right direction. Astrology & NumerologyBoth astrology and numerology can help significantly in terms of finding your path. As divinatory arts, they provide a map of your inherent strengths and weaknesses and where you are destined to go in this life. Rather than a fatalistic view of your destiny, both practices espouse the notion of free will in determining what will happen. Astrology is the study of how the planets aspected each other at your moment of birth. It can provide tremendous insight into the energetic patterns of how the planets are currently interacting with your chart and guidance on direction and timing. Numerology also helps you to understand the patterns surrounding your birth, through adding up the numbers of your birth day and representation of numbers through the letters of your birth name. Each number carries an energy that affects you. You Life Path number provides you with a solid, yet general, indication of what you are here to accomplish. Dreams Most people have trouble with dream recall on a consistent basis. They remember few dreams, but the ones they do recall have significant messages for them. Journaling your dreams can provide great insight into your current situation, and your life path, and the process of journaling will help you with recall. Putting focus and intention on your dream life will greatly improve memory and insights. Synchronicities Psychoanalyst Carl Jung coined the term "synchronicity" to describe events that were more than coincidental and could have significant implications on your life path. Paying attention to synchronicities can be very important to discovering your path. Synchronicities can show up in a fragment of an overheard conversation, a song on the radio, an article in the newspaper, or a sign on the road. A repeated word or phrase could be a key to your path. It may not be the end-goal, but it can be significant step or a turning point on your path, if you stay alert. These are but a few of the many tools available that can help you uncover your mission in life, your calling. Hopefully, some of these ideas will help you to start your journey of discovery.
