Fire the Grid

Healing our Earth

The success of the "Fire the Grid" project relies on an individual committment to one hour of positive peaceful healing intention.

I attended and was extremely moved by a talk recently given by Shelley Yates. Shelley is a young woman whose car veered into a marsh four years ago on the outskirts of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Shelley and her young son Evan were traveling to a friend’s house when her car hydroplaned into a flooded marsh. Although I vaguely remembered hearing of the incident, I was not familiar with the full story of Shelley’s experience until I heard her speak at Bedford United Church a few weeks ago.

Shelley and her son were trapped inside her overturned vehicle and sank to the bottom of the marsh. As the vehicle filled with water, Shelley grasped her 4-year old son’s coat and waited to be fully submerged, hoping that she would be able to open the car door when it equalized with water. Unfortunately, the car doors would not open despite Shelley’s struggle. At this point Shelley threw her son to the back seat hoping he would find air. Shortly after, realizing that they were both going to drown, Shelley panicked at the thought that her son would die wondering why his mother had thrown him away. She flailed attempting to recover him from the back seat, but was unable to find him. After drinking water deep into her lungs, she became aware of a calm majestic voice telling her to relax, that everything would be okay. The voice continued to speak to her while she passed to the other side. Beings of light assured her that she and her son would be fine, but she must follow their instructions and not lose faith.

By the time rescuers were able to pull Shelley from the car, 15 minutes had gone by followed by 7 minutes of CPR to revive her. Upon being revived, she immediately blurted “get my baby out of the car”. Thirty minutes had passed before rescuers received Evan’s body. Evan was rushed to the IWK Children’s Hospital and placed on life-support with little hope of survival. Doctors urged Shelley to withdraw life-support explaining that Evan was brain-dead and his internal organs were full of blood. At this point, the voice returned telling Shelley to have faith. She was encouraged by the voice to rebuild her son’s aura by infusing his body with the aura of others.

For the next 72-hours, Shelley coordinated a flow of loving people through Evan’s room for 20-minute periods and sharing their energy fields with Evan by touching him and allowing their energy to run through his body, sharing positive energy and love. After 72-hours of constant vigil Evan opened his eyes and recognized Shelley. Within a week, he recovered all his body functions and by the end of the second week was running hospital hallways. He does not suffer any mental or physical deficiencies and is 8-years old now.

Following her ordeal, Shelley has continued to receive instructions from her spiritual light beings, and has struggled at times to maintain her sanity and accept her spiritual awakening and proposed “mission”.

Is Shelley a religious zealot? Far from it, prior to her ordeal she was a confirmed atheist. Whether or not you believe her story, the message that she has been asked to communicate can only help the state of our world.

Throughout history, the world reluctantly accepted prophets who spread the message of love and peace. Perhaps Shelley is one of today’s prophets – a spiritually enlightened individual with an important message. Shelley’s message is that the power to unite this planet as one peaceful race lies within each of us. Shelley believes that through positive intention, we can revive the Earth and heal it as we move forward in a new phase of humanity. She is encouraging each one of us to share one hour of peaceful intention at a common defined time, to fire the earth’s divine energy system and promote healing.

The initiative titled “Fire the Grid” involves joining with others in peaceful intention on July 17, 2007 at 11:11 Greenwich Mean Time. Please join with Shelley and the thousands of others who have committed to this project. For one hour on July 17, 2007, add your energy to the project: meditate, sing, dance, pray, or spend the time in whatever activity brings you peace.

Further information and local times for the initiative can be found at Shelley’s website (Fire the Grid).
