Gregg Braden's Fractal Time

World Age Cycles, Fibonacci Spiral and 2012

May 30, 2009 Mary Desaulniers

Using the logic of fractal replication, Gregg Braden reveals the formula his Time Code Calculator uses to predict future events.

The word “fractal” was coined by mathematician Benoit Mandelbrot to describe a pattern that replicates a larger pattern like a world within worlds. The fractal is a self-replicating system in which a part contains the whole.

In Fractal Time, Gregg Braden claims that the past is a blueprint for the future and that this blueprint can be understood in terms of the fractal: each event in history is self-replicating, becoming with each replication a more powerful, amplified version of itself. Man can decode the future by identifying key events in the past and recognizing the pattern that projects the same events into the future.

World Age Cycles

The history of the world has been tracked by world age cycles under various ancient traditions. The Mayans calculated time in terms of Great Cycles; the Vedas spoke of yugas; the Aztecs and Hopis referred to their cycles as Worlds. Earth’s 25,625 year orbit (the precession of the equinoxes) through the 12 constellations of the zodiac is divided in to five ages, each lasting 5,125 years.

While specific details are different among these systems, they do have one aspect in common – they all point to the year 2012 as the end of the old precession cycle and the beginning of a new one.

The present world age (also considered the last in the 25,625-year cycle) began in 3114 B.C. Ancient tradition predicts that its end will be revealed by a rare alignment of the solar system with the core of the Milky Way galaxy on December 21, 2012. The last time a similar event happened to earth was 26,000 years ago.

Fibonacci Spiral

If fractals are the patterns nature uses, the golden ratio or phi (1.618) determines nature’s frequency in repeating fractals. Phi is the secret number derived from the Fibonacci sequence and encoded in all aspects of nature, including the human body.

According to Braden, it is also encoded in time. The shape of time is cyclic, taking the form of the Fibonacci Spiral whose cyclic frequency can be calculated with the use of the golden ratio.

Braden’s Time Code Calculator works by plotting the Fibonacci Spiral within specific events in time. If an individual can determine the roots of the spiral with past events, he can mathematically calculate the probable eventuality of future events.

Fractal Time and Year 2012

What can fractal time reveal about 2012? Using the larger parent cycles of the ancient world as a base, Braden “builds a bridge to the past that gives a window to the future.” Calculating the seed dates of changes in solar output, climate and civilization status, he is able to make predictions regarding earth changes in 2012 that include increases in global temperatures, weather and land disruptions, dwindling resources, oil and food shortages, violent competitions and wars.

However, he reminds readers that nothing is fixed in stone because man is the ultimate writer of the 2012 chapter; how he chooses his “being” can change outcomes predicted for 2012. Living in coherence and cooperation with the world community has the power to change earth events through collective emotion.

While Braden’s Fractal Time provides predictions for events in 2012, it also allows each individual to predict future events in his personal life by using the formula of the Fibonacci Spiral embedded in his Time Code Calculator.

If the beginning of the Mayan calendar was 3,114 B.C. and considering each cycle equals 5,125 yrs., would not 12/22/2011 be the true end of the Great Cycle? Or does Leap Year factor in?

Also, the Mayan Calendar depicts 5 world ages: if they are the Atlantean, Paleolithic, Neolithic, the Golden Age of Greece and the Patriarchal - then is the Age of Lemuria not mentioned because it was destroyed in the last Precessional Cycle? pkh777@comcast.net

If anything specific is intended to happen on that date, it is already in the works, and has been for the last 17 years. 1998 may have been the true alignment, while 2012 is the end of that alignment, when all starts over again. Since we are talking about the massiveness of a galaxy, then these things don't just happen overnight; although something special will happen then as an accumulation of things. mario@instars.tv

You are absolutely right. Events have been in place for a long time.Thank you for sharing your insight.
