Life is a wonderous and inexplicable mystery. Are the questions then perhaps even more important than the answers? And does something out there 'Love' us, after all?
Rob Breszny, noted astrologer, mystic and poetic optimist, coined the phrase "The World Conspires to Shower You With Blessings" in an insightful essay of the same name in which he exquisitely lists the awesome and miraculous experience which is 'life'. From the miracle of simply waking up every day to the oxygen levels that inexplicably sustain us, his essay is a purposed meditation in focus: aligning yourself with the magic that it simply is to be. Magic is afoot. And it wants to be found. The Cosmos is a FnordIt is often easy to become lost in the periphery of our distractions. Or is that part of the master plan? Fnord, for the uninitiated, is a term that is deliberately misleading. Its meaning underscores the fundamental principles of discordia set forth by Robert Anton Wilson in The Illumantus Trilogy. Under the Illuminati program, children are conditioned to be unable to consciously see the word "fnord". For the rest of their lives, every appearance of the word subconsciously generates a feeling of uneasiness and confusion, and prevents rational consideration of the subject. A 'Fnord' then, has come to represent anything that is a conscious and deliberate manifestation that registers in an unaware audience at a subconscious level. We call it the 'subconscious', but that's fairly new terminology. It might just as easily be 'cosmic consciousness', a level of understanding below the rational mind - or above it if you prefer. But what if by terming it to be 'the subconscious' with all of the helpless and beyond-our-control notions that implies, we are collectively dismissing an untapped reservoir of power within us that has always been connected to God/the Divine/the Universe/ Something Other? What if a Fnord can also represent something that is actually intended to provoke us into new depths of understanding? What if the sneaking suspicion that someone up there not only loves us but is actually trying to communicate in its own way is absolutely right? The Power of SynchronicityWe've all heard of love stories that invoke the element of surprise intentionally upon the beloved - a man takes his girlfriend to a ballgame and between innings, the scoreboard suddenly flashes "Will You Marry Me, Jill?" Weeks of preparation go into these sorts of actions and are motivated by acts of love for the sheer pleasure of one fleeting moment. of bliss in the eyes of the beloved. That the element of a surprise and hidden message is hard wired in us to provoke such a deep sense of emotion additionally gives a hopeful lover an edge in gaining a 'yes' in the thrall of the moment. The Polarization of NegativityOne of the biggest arguments about co-creative manifestation, or that anything wants to conspire to give us what we want in any way at all is the obvious occurence of the negative. As if to say that if this were all true, 'bad' things would never happen like the Holocaust. We simply could have 'wished' it away! The problem with that sort of logic is our finite understanding in the grand scheme of eternity. 'Good' and 'Evil' are subjective concepts - regardless of religious dogma. Consider the Butterfly which is first a worm. Is it evil that he is forced to die completely to his worm body in order to gain wings? Or what of the food chain as a whole? All beings existing on this earth can survive in only one way: Through the death of another thing. Thinking that something greater isn't going on seems a far greater evil. Corrie Ten Boom recounts her experience of God in a concentration camp in 'The Hiding Place', where she lost her entire family at the hands of the Nazi's. Yet, in every page of the book she details over and over again the countless miracles that occured there and how very much she came to see God as present in everything - from vitamin bottles that never emptied to even giving praise for the lice because they allowed her to hold prayer meetings by keeping the SS guards away. Victor Frankl in 'Mans Search for Meaning' surrendered to that same state of thinking, going even further to invent 'Logostherapy' as a direct result of his experience there. That things happen which are unpleasant is no indicator of the absence of a loving energy behind it all. But what happens within it, very often is. Further Links and References
