The exception to this is Jesus. If you believe Jesus is God (and it sounds like you don't - but I could be wrong), well, then Jesus WAS (and is) a man (in every sense of the word "man"). » EvilChihuahua - Your July 2 blog post In response to Your July 2 blog post posted by spiritalk:

Hence, Jewish and Christian scriptures" Again, who speaks for God? The scriptures of the bible are manmade and this cannot be overlooked in the gender issue, Old or New Testament. As we dismiss it as 'written' we are still taking human translations. God did not choose this confusion, but man did. It is still a man's world in that respect. My God is absolute Love. He does not consider gender important nor limiting as the scriptures state. Can we at least agree on that? 2) Now, the NEXT issue is to determine HOW to know this God? Where can we go for information on this God? You have only two choices....personal observation and experience OR the other peoples' observations and experiences. Can we agree on that? » EvilChihuahua - Your July 2 blog post In response to Your July 2 blog post posted by spiritalk:

Each of us understands God from their own experiences...thereby being one aspect or another that someone else has not considered. Does this make more than one God? IME NO! There is only one God. The interpretation and/or aspect can be many. 2. Yes! We can trust other people's opinions or open ourselves to our own. I can't think of another way that would be valid to examine anything? There is only one God. The interpretation and/or aspect can be many. I forget the philosopher who provided the elephant analogy, but it seems to fit what you're saying. Take 10 blind people and put them around an elephant. Tell them to touch and feel the elephant - and then to describe it. You will have ten different descriptions due to ten different vantage points. Is that what you're getting at? This archived discussion is "read only" due to the absence of an active Feature Writer/moderator for this topic.
