In response to Slavery posted by BrianTubbs:

.
Page 3 of your article you linked. This is bothersome to me. Curious. Is this a commonly-held Christian (or church) doctrine?
.
I quote you:
.
"Since Christians are to be "slaves to God" (Romans 6:22) and to consider themselves as "pilgrims" passing through (Hebrews 11:13 and I Peter 2:11), they should not become focused or obsessed with fighting for social and economic equality while on this earth, but rather should focus on proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

"This is a very hard principle for 21st century people to reconcile with. We see the world around us and all its injustice - and we want to fix it. We want to right the wrongs. And we have the stirring example of great men like Abraham Lincoln, Gandhi and Martin Luther King, Jr. showing us the way.

"But the apostles would maintain that evil and suffering are a part of this world. These things will always be a part of this fallen world. If we become so preoccupied in righting the wrongs in this world, we lose sight of the next one."

In response to Feminism posted by pink101:

With regard to seasons...I believe we all have our favorites.

There was a popular idea a while ago to 'have your colours done' and this related to seasons and which colours were best for the individual. A friend of mine had it done and winter colours suited her tones best. On the other hand, it was not her favorite season.

When we say pastel and muted we are buying into the old and tried ideas of femininty. It happens so easily, doesn't it?

My favorite season is fall...the colour, the air of freshness and beginnings (school year and all that) ten to raise the consciousness to learning and growing. It is a time many interesting and innovative things happen in my life..perhaps because we allow them to happen?

I also like the spring freshness of blossom. It is a time of planting the seeds that will make life full in its time.

God bless, J

The doctrine of 'this is a world of suffering' has done more harm to human happiness (the better goal) than anything else. Why is it a suffering world? To maintain a control by any given group? Consider...equality brings freedoms through spirituality.

» pink101 - The Point of Feminism & Seasons

In response to Feminism posted by spiritalk:
.
For me, the point of feminism and seasons has to do with the raising of consciousness.
.
It's always Spring like some place on Earth. If we can get away far enough to have our consciousness raised, we see that.
.
Earth is alive and constantly going through the rebirth of life--someplace.
.
Lotta love from Michigan!
.
Those "matey" guys down under are in the Spring season right now. Flowers are blooming and coming to blossom. Trees are turning to green. Nature is coming alive.
.
