This is one of the reasons why Christians tend to be pro-Israel." . Perhaps that is the area of the single most popular delusion taught by Fundamentalist "Christian" churches in the world today. . -- posted by pink101 » Migisi - Christianity and Judaism In response to Christianity and Judaism posted by pink101:

» pink101 - The Subliminal Message In response to Christianity and Judaism posted by BrianTubbs:. "However, as a Bible-believing Christian, I do believe in the Abramic covenant and in biblical prophecy." . Yes, and I suppose you believe that deep within your mind. . The subliminal message is that accepting the Abramic covenant along with biblical prophecy makes a person a Christian. Right HERE, you have elevated O.T. theology above the simple message of the Gospel and Right THERE you go off into Judaism. . Reminds me of the old saying from Sir Walter Scott, "Oh, What A Tangled Web We Weave, When First We Practice to Deceive!" That very comment you make comes straight out of Fundamentalism that grew out of the millenialism of the nineteenth century, the purpose of which was to prove that the Bible is equal to science as original source material. It is part of the tangled web that has been woven. It has confused and obfuscated the Gospel of Jesus that was beginning to bloom in Modernity. . But, that's a subject that we cannot discuss, isn't it? And, why can't we discuss that? . -- posted by pink101

» pink101 - Set Me Straight. In response to The Subliminal Message posted by BrianTubbs:. You write, "Let's drop it." . And, in my post, I wrote, "But, that's a subject that we cannot discuss, isn't it? And, why can't we discuss that?" . :) . You, most definetly equated being a Christian to the Abramic Covenant in which it is understood that God gives a special place to all the "Legitimate descendants of Abraham". Here is your statement, . "However, as a Bible-believing Christian, I do believe in the Abramic covenant and in biblical prophecy." . Aren't you saing that Christians are Bible-believing. And, aren't you saing that, it is central for Christians to believe in the Abramic covenant? Aren't you saying it is impossible to be a Christian and not believe in the Bible? Therefor, a Christian must recognize the special place Jews hold in God's mind. If I'm wrong, show me. I can be reproved. Set me straight. . . -- posted by pink101 » sacred_insights - What makes something "alternative"? In response to What makes something "alternative"? posted by Jolinda:Thank you for posting that link... the paradigm you use in that article can be used to look across religions or to look at the divisions within various religious groups. It sure helps me understand better the political jockeying that I have seen destroy any real cooperation between Spiritualist churches in Canada... LOL seems they are all too busy doing their own thing and being "alternative" and pointing fingers at each other saying "You are wrong! THIS is what Spiritualism is!" to make serious progress in regards to their status in comparison to the mainstream religions. And for that reason Spiritualism likely will be labeled as "alternative" and sadly "cult" by outsiders and academics for a long time to come. -- posted by sacred_insights » pink101 - What makes something "alternative"? In response to What makes something "alternative"? posted by sacred_insights:. Cat? . Can you give us a concise explanation showing the difference between the terms, spiritist, and, spiritualist? . In response to What makes something "alternative"? posted by pink101:Hi Pinky: The basic difference between Spiritist and Spiritualist is that Spiritists believe in reincarnation as being a necessary process for soul/spiritual progression while Spiritualists do not. Spiritualists generally believe that soul/spiritual progression happens here while in the physical and continues in the spirit world but that there is no need to reincarnate back to the physical plane when we die. Me I figure it is like anything else... Likely a choice and we won't really know until we get there so no sense splitting hairs on the topic of reincarnation... but you did ask the difference so there you have it! How are you anyway?
